2022 Retrospective

Unity was the theme for the year and we started out with a one-day team retreat, in which we took time to plan ahead, to pray for the women in our church, and for each other. It was a good start.

Earlier in the year, we delivered College care packages, neighbor to neighbor baskets, and organized a friendship scavenger hunt that included the whole church. We had fun and we got to know each other a bit better. Special thanks to Sarah Prindle who came up with this fun idea and the entire scavenger hunt list!

Spring in our church came with flowers, and showers for the many couples who decided to tie the knot. We still managed to host our annual All The King’s Daughters event though! Our theme was, “Better Together” and our speaker and the musicians were some of our own ARBC ladies. Our pastor’s wife, Krista Robinson, brought the devotional message based on Ecclesiastes 4. We were blessed and challenged to focus on unity for God's glory.

In August we introduced “Night of Worship,” a casual but special evening of prayer, praise and music.

Our fall Bible study, “Faces of Friendship” by Debi Pryde was led by some of our own ARBC ladies. It was held from September through November.

The annual ARBC ladies retreat was at ARBC on Sept 30 & Oct 1. Guest speakers Amber Saylor and Angela Little did an amazing job of teaching us how to be Women of the Word from the book of Titus. Those of us in attendance had a great time of fellowship and grew closer together as sisters in Christ.

All throughout 2022 we delivered Neighbor to Neighbor baskets. Our Altoona neighbors that received baskets this year were: Rasmussen Bike Shop, Altoona Tax Service, Be Well Pediatrics, Healing Rock Counseling, Goldfinch Growth and Justified Beauty. Included in the baskets are a card from ARBC, Bibles, tracts and church information along with snacks, a plant or flower, a pizza gift card and other small items. In November, we also had the opportunity to collect and send fabric with missionary James Nyoach for the women of his church in Ethiopia. Thank you to all who contributed to this outreach ministry. We have had some wonderful follow up interactions and the baskets have always been very well received. Please pray for the opportunities this outreach provides.

The final event of 2023 was the annual ladies Christmas Gala. Our theme was, “Magnify”. We enjoyed a wonderful program with dramatic readings and music along with a meal and time of fellowship. This event took a lot of work from several of our ARBC men and women. We also collected diapers and baby wipes for Alpha Women’s Center at this event and were pleased to have a great amount to deliver! AWC is a pregnancy crisis center that provides much needed help to women in distress, while saving babies’ lives in the process. You can find more information about their ministry here.

Many of you helped us out in various ways throughout the year. Please know how much you are appreciated! We desire and strive to involve as many women as possible in this ministry.

Thank you for allowing us to serve on the women’s ministry team! God is good and faithful!
