Relationship Builders and the Source of Love

"By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren."  1 John 3:16

           Carrie Ausgburger brought us the challenge from the Word. The message was simple, clear, and convicting. We ought to love others the way He loves us. And He is the source of love, the One who pours on us and through us the abundant grace of His love, so that we can pour ourselves into others in a sacrificial and God-pleasing way. Building relationships can be challenging, needs nurture, is often inconvenient, and will be messy. But we don't do it on our own. We go to the source. We work on our relationship with Him first. Loving others is not what we need to do, it is the expected result of loving God and spending time with Him. This is the message we need to be reminded of daily. The Gospel which saved us from our sins, continues to save us from ourselves and enables us to truly love others.  Christ  laid down His life for us so we can live for Him and lay down our life for the sake of others.

The morning was filled with blessings. We are so thankful for all who came and for the sweet fellowship that ensued. We were encouraged by college students who showed up and stepped up to help and serve. 

    Shout out to Reya! It was lovely hearing her play her guitar! We also had our younger generation join us in service. Elliana Taylor, who is always willing to offer a hand, helped with the setup, and Isabel Rathbun presented special music with her mama. 

What a lovely way to spend the day! What a great reason to be together! May God continue to work in our lives. May He bring us close to Him, so we can be passionate relationship-builders.

A Post-it to All the King’s Daughters…

… because we all need reminders!😜

Our annual event is this Saturday (April 27). We  are hoping to see you all there. The program goes from 10 am to 12 pm, and lunch will be provided. Our special guest Carrie Augsburger is bringing the message based on our theme “Ship Builders.” Come and bring a friend with you! Let us know of your plans by this Wednesday evening so we can plan for food accordingly 😊. We are excited to spend time building together!

Just Sisters with a Good Cup of Coffee

Nothing is better than a good cup of coffee and Christian fellowship! Several ladies participating in Just Sisters met for coffee this morning from 9 - 10 AM at Best Day coffee shop in Altoona. Nine “sisters” and two young people enjoyed a time of relaxation, coffee, and sweet fellowship. 

Just Sisters is a revamped Secret Sister ministry where “sisters” are not a secret! We found out today that some sisters meet weekly while others meet whenever their busy schedules allow. Texting, visiting at church, meeting at someone’s home, or meeting for coffee are all great ways to get to know and encourage each other! This first round of Just Sisters is over the end of May, but it will start again later in the year. If you weren’t able to participate this time, please join us next time!
