We kept ourselves (and you :)) busy this year, didn't we?
Here is a recap of the things we did together. To God be the glory, great things He has done!
The mission statement for One Another Women’s Ministry is: To love, encourage, grow closer with, and be accountable to one another in our church family, particularly our sisters in Christ, while also reaching out into our community with the love of Christ. We endeavor to accomplish this mission with prayer, Bible study, devotions, church events, and outreach ministry opportunities.
We started out 2025 with a one-day team retreat in Ankeny. At the time of the retreat, the OA team consisted of: Michelle Knight, Clea Rathbun, Kathy Taylor, and Debbie Toomey. We had a wonderful day together as we spent time in prayer for the women of our church, shared devotionals, enjoyed fellowship over a meal, and planned out the year ahead. The retreat was very productive, and we planned another busy year of ministry.
This past year, we:
-continued w/the
blog
-continued
w/delivering Neighbor to Neighbor baskets in the community
-organized the
collection of bandages and Neosporin for James to take back to Gambella
-organized and delivered college care
packages
-hosted a couple
of Girls Night Out events, which offered a way for us to get to know each other
better through fellowship, salvation testimonies, sharing meals and playing
games
-held the annual
All The King’s Daughters event in the spring, where we were encouraged by our
speaker, Vivian Johnston. We also enjoyed a special time together over a meal.
-had our annual
ARBC Ladies Retreat in the fall where Clea Rathbun taught us how to biblically
counsel one another. We also had music,
fun, food and quality time in The Word and w/each other.
-started
another session of, “Just Sisters” for fellowship and discipleship
opportunities
-ended 2025 w/the annual ladies Christmas
Gala. We shared a very special evening
together as we enjoyed a meal and celebrated the birth of Jesus with music and
guest speaker Alne Hartog w/Alpha Women’s Center. And we once again collected diapers and baby
wipes for AWC at the gala.
-we had
planned to have an ice cream outreach this past summer during a city-wide
garage sale day. But the construction
work on the street and parking lot necessitated us postponing this event. Stay tuned!
Thank you to Lexi Taylor and Janette Kern, who helped us
throughout this past year with various events and projects. They were receiving credit from FBBC for part
of that time, but they also have both helped aside from FBBC requirements.
And a BIG thank
you to those of you who helped us out in various ways throughout the
year. Please know how much you and your
help are appreciated! More
details of the above events are available on the blog.
Thank you for
allowing us to serve on the women’s ministry team! God is good and faithful!
