Self-Defense Presentation

Troublemakers, beware! Our Altoona ladies are meek and gentle but can be fierce, and after this self-defense class, they are ready to teach a lesson or two.
Our Self-defense class was a smashing success!
To make it possible, we enlisted the help of Sgt. Harmon with Altoona PD. He enlisted the help of Carmela as his assistant, and all the ladies had a ball watching Carmela show off her tough side! Participants had the chance to practice some of the moves taught. Among the top A+ students, Debbie Toomey shone as first of the class. Can't beat that grit and enthusiasm!
In all seriousness, our ladies learned valuable tips on how to be aware of their surroundings. They heard about being cautious when using the internet and social media, what to do in case of stalking, and, when push comes to shove, how to think and act fast when faced with a dangerous situation.
We are very thankful for having Sgt. Harmon sharing these lessons with us. Thanks for a fun and informative morning!
Here are some highlights (for your enjoyment):

Carmela showing off her toughness!

Debbie Toomey is showing that she can pack a punch!

And she can kick too!

Did we mention she can put her elbow to good use?!

Dixie, putting theory into practice!

Lydia giving it a go!

Take number two!
One more of Debbie in action for good measure!
