2024 Recap

To God be the glory, great things He has done!
We started out 2024 with a one-day team retreat in Ankeny. We had a wonderful day together as we spent time in prayer for you, shared devotionals, enjoyed fellowship over a meal and planned out the year ahead.
This past year we:
-continued w/the blog we started last year and we hope to post even more there in the year ahead as we all get more comfortable with the process. We hope you are enjoying it as much as we are. Give us your input. Suggestions are always welcome!
-organized and delivered college care packages alongside Susan and Megan Dawson. They are wonderful helpers with this ministry!
-hosted a couple of Girls Night Out events which offered a way for us to get to know each other better through fellowship, sharing meals and playing games.
-held the annual All The King’s Daughters event in the spring where we were encouraged by a guest speaker and enjoyed special time together over a meal.
-had our annual ARBC Ladies Retreat in the fall which included guest speakers and music as we spent quality time in The Word and w/each other.
-enjoyed another fall Bible study session (10 weeks) in the homes of some of our members
-started another session of, “Just Sisters” for fellowship and discipleship opportunities
-ended 2024 w/the annual ladies Christmas Gala. We shared a very special evening together as we enjoyed a meal and celebrated the birth of Jesus with a musical program. Several ladies from our church, of all ages, took part in this program and we’re thankful for their involvement and help. We also truly appreciate the team of men that served the meal for us and ran the kitchen making it an extra special event for all of us. We also collected needed items for Alpha Women’s Center at this event and were pleased to have a great amount to deliver to AWC again this year.
This past year we delivered Neighbor to Neighbor baskets to: Community State Bank and The Meek Team Real Estate Team. Included in the baskets are a card from ARBC, Bibles, tracts and church information along with snacks, a plant or flower, a pizza gift card and other small items. Thank you to all who contribute to this outreach ministry. We have had some good follow-up interactions and the baskets have always been very well received. Please pray for the opportunities this outreach provides.
A BIG thank you to those of you that helped us out in various ways throughout the year. Please know how much you and your help are appreciated!
Thank you for allowing us to serve on the women’s ministry team! God is good and faithful!

A Candlelight Supper

The candle light Christmas program was beautiful in its simplicity and in the many hands that helped light it up. And what a wonderful reminder of the Light of the world who came to save us all from darkness! Many thanks to all those who helped this night  to come together: Jannette Kern as the narrator, Lillie Jacobs lighting up the candles just at the right time, Allison Tapan leading us in songs and hymns, Lexi Taylor joining in to sing "O Little Town of Bethlehem,"  Lilly Turman playing "The First Noel," on the flute, Olivia Matson singing "What Child is this?" in her beautiful voice,  Ava and Olivia Vaughn making their violins sing  "Silent Night," Avery, Isabel, and Ellie for a very memorable low tone "Away in a Manger" 😉... So many thanks to you all! We are also so grateful for our "One Another Brothers" who are always so ready to volunteer to serve and help us with the clean up. You make our Gala night truly special! Thank You!!!! Below are some of the highlights registered by Meredith Battles.(many thanks to you too!) 💖

The people who walked in darkness
Have seen a great light;
Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death,
Upon them a light has shined.
Isaiah 9:2

“I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
John 8:12

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven"
