2024 GNO Olympics

Strength. Endurance. Determination!

The 2024 GNO Olympics was a smashing success, and the athletes could not be better prepared. They gave their best and their all!  

Mary Porter showed her hidden talent to the world. No missing the target with her around!

As the leader of the Olympic committee, Stella did not disappoint. 

The queen of games brought a variety of tournaments that got everybody involved one way or another... 

Some went all in... 

...others had fun just watching... 

Never give up... Never surrender! That was the motto of these girls who bravely finished the race giving not a second thought to time :) Perhaps with "Chariots of Fire" playing in the back of their minds... 

Have you heard of those runners who stop too soon to celebrate their victory and end up losing the race? Deb gave us her own version of it :) She lost the game, but not her poise and good humor!

Up and down and up again... this one had everybody rolling

Speaking of rolling, Michelle Battles put her vast golf experience to the test and came up ahead on her game... See her concentrated thinking about her next move!

I bet you can!

The food was french...ish... But the cheering was definitely USA all the way!

 The closing ceremony was exciting, with competitors being awarded their prizes... Gold... Silver... Bronze... and the crowd erupted with the singing of the national anthem. A very appropriate ending indeed. 

Thank you, Stella, for organizing the games. Both spectators and fierce contenders enjoyed them all and shared in the  joy of being together!

Many thanks to Olivia for sharing her testimony. What a beautiful reminder of the redeeming work Christ does in our lives! It was an encouragement to all of us.

Neighbor to Neighbor Basket

Thank you to all of you who contributed to our Neighbor to Neighbor basket. It was a hit! The employees at Community State Bank were overwhelmed and pleasantly surprised! Join us in prayer for those who have received the gift and the message that went with it. 

    The evenings of June 10-14 were a little more lively than usual as we ministered to the youth of Altoona at VBS. It's always a special week as many young children come and hear the Word of God proclaimed.

    For those who were unable to volunteer. we wanted to do a little recap. We had over 50 children come during the week. The lessons focused on the character of Christ and students learned how they could follow His example in their daily lives.

 We ended the week sharing the gospel with the parents and students in our Closing Program. We then celebrated a great week with a cookout and carnival games.
