2023 Recap

2023 flew by and it feels like 2024 is already slipping through the hands of time. We have so much to thank the Lord for, and so many reasons to look ahead. We continue to grow older and hopefully wiser as we strive to be God’s useful vessels.

We had great Girls Night Out gatherings! We have a lot of fun playing games, eating, singing, and doing small projects together. The purpose of these low key events is to create, maintain, and strength relationships. Nothing like smiles and noisy laughs to bind us together!

All The Kings Daughters was the first of our more formal events.  With the theme "My Cup is Overflowing," we spent time savoring delicious cup cakes! Then we turned our attention to Psalm 23, being reminded of the many ways God abundantly fills our cup with His grace even when we pass through shadows of death.   Our speaker Julia Lyttle shared her personal spiritual journey and encouraged us to look unto our Shepherd for comfort, provision and gladness.

One fun project we enjoy doing throughout the year is the Neighbor to Neighbor baskets.  We usually invite our church family to contribute and make several gift baskets, and present them to small businesses around us. This year, however, we decided to put all of our eggs into one huge basket and make a neighborhood Garage “sale” where everything was free, and everyone was welcome. The whole church was actively involved including little kids who invited passersby, and helped break the awkward ice of new social connections. We had a great turn out and we will definitely do it again!
For our Fall Bible Study we wanted to try something different. Instead of one big group, three smaller ones met in three different locations.  It was a success! We are so thankful to the gracious hostesses and leaders who shared their homes and their time to provide sweet fellowship and encouragement.

Then came the retreat. What a treat for all of us! With the theme “Coming Together for the Glory of God,” the retreat was a time of great fellowship and wonderful conversations with each other and with our guest speaker Alne Hartog. She did a fantastic job teaching us and encouraging us with God’s Word. Alne reminded us of our unity in Christ that should translate into unity in purpose: to glorify God in all that we do.

Our Gala ended our yearly schedule with festive lights and wonderful music. It was a beautiful night to remember the wonderful night in which Christ came into the world. We are so thankful for all the moments together learning, serving, having fun, and being edified with God's Word. To God be the glory. Great things He has done!

Love's Pure Light

We praise the Lord for a very special time in His presence! All the glory to Him for giving us His Son, the reason for our celebration and our very existence!
The Ladies' Gala is our last event of the year and we try to make it extra special. We are always in awe of what God provides and how He works things out for His glory. The evening was filled with lights and beautiful music. The program was simple, composed of Scripture reading and strings (skillfully played!). It was a time to celebrate the night of our Savior's birth, when angelic music ushered in Love's pure light!

Shelly Wilson helped us beautify the fellowship hall with exquisite decorations.

Amy Vaughn, her daughters Ava and Olivia, and her sister Amanda Szuch brought their violins, cello, dulcimer, and their talent to make beautiful sounds with them.

Carmela, Jacy, Leah, and Lydia joined the group for a vocal special. Lexi and Debbie led us in singing.  And we all helped in one way or another.
As they say, many hands (and voices) make light work. They also filled our hearts with gratitude in a night to remember.

P.s.: Some of our church gentlemen, whom we affectionately call "the One Another brothers," volunteered once again to serve dinner. It is always such a treat for all of us! Many thanks to them!
