Fall Bible Study Update

Our Bible Study groups have been meeting for the past 3 weeks, and it has been big a encouragement to us! It is great to study the Bible with sisters in Christ in whom we can confide and share prayer requests.   We love seeing you, ladies! If you have not been to any of our groups, you are welcome to visit us in any of our three locations (more info in our comments below). Come over, stay for coffee, chat… You might be compelled to come again on the following week 😉.

Meet our Speakers

The countdown for our 2023 Women's Retreat has started!  We are excited to be together in the Word and in fellowship with one another once again in two weeks. So, get ready! Our  theme is "Coming Together for the Glory of God." We are looking forward to immersing in the Word of God and being refreshed by it. Alne Hartog and Carrie Augsburger are our speakers for this year.

Alne and her husband Dr. Paul Hartog are members of Maranatha Baptist Church in Grimes, where they work with the teens. She and her “sweetheart” love celebrating their wedding anniversary monthly. They are at 328 months this month! They have two college-age children and one high schooler. Alne loves encouraging and discipling other women. She has recently become the assistant director of Alpha Women’s Center, being a voice for precious babies who cannot speak for themselves, and being an encouragement to mamas. Alne enjoys playing her guitar (named Troy), reading, hanging out with friends, cooking, and traveling stateside and overseas with her family.

Carrie is from Grimes, IA where her husband Lance has pastored at Maranatha Baptist Church for the past six years. She takes great joy in serving the Lord alongside him. She is currently on staff at her church as the Media & Communications Manager and enjoys serving especially the women and precious children in her church. Carrie loves the Word, adventuring with her husband Lance, discipling women, and reading a good book with a cup of coffee.

A Comment on Comments

This is a special post for those of you who have been posting comments and are wondering what happened to them… Well, they were finally read today😄.  Thanks to our not-so-savvy tech group (especially me😃) we did not get to them until now. Fear not, we are learning, slowly but surely!
Thank you for the words of encouragement. They mean a lot to our team. You guys are great!  Your comments are much appreciated and from now on, they will be posted right away!

By the way, you are welcome to sign your name at the end of your comment so we know who you are!

Colorful Fun Night in Carnival Style...

Another Girl's Night Out accomplished! Great food, lots of games, loud laughs... all in good Iowan fair style. It was a great night to enjoy together.

We ate food on a stick, popcorn, cotton candy... it was definitely not a good night to be on a diet!
Stella Harris brought an arsenal of games and the ladies were up for the challenge! Some more than others... We were so surprised to see the competitive side of our ladies! You go, girls!
Michelle Knight thought we all needed to experience a fair amount of fair games as well. So we did. A few of us even got prizes! It was a special treat for the younger members of the crowd.

Thank you everyone for coming. It is a joy to serve the Lord and to enjoy life with you!

Here are some highlights of the night:
